About "Colin goes to Zobeland"
I've been working on "Colin goes to Zobeland" since 2003 and by October 2007 had a three chapter draft. The problem is finding the time to write. I work for myself, have hardly any spare time and can't afford to take the long holiday I'd need to finish the story.
As I complete each new section or chapter, or produce a new draft, I upload it to this site for you to read. You can read the current draft of the novel here at Zobeland.com and let me know what you think at the Zobeland Forum.
I'd welcome any constructive suggestions on ways of improving this site, getting published, getting the novel finished, or anything else you think might be useful. Please let me know via the Contact Page.
If you enjoy reading "Colin goes to Zobeland", please tell anyone you think might like it too.
How "Colin goes to Zobeland" started
I've made several attempts to write a novel over the years and they've all previously failed to get going. The difference between earlier efforts and this one is that I didn't (and still don't) plan anything before commencing writing. I have no idea what's going to happen each time I write the next installment and most of the work is based on spontaneous ideas. I do have the occasional inspiration between writing sessions (not always at the most convenient times) and I jot these down for potential inclusion at an appropriate point. This makes the whole writing process extremely enjoyable and constantly surprising. I can't wait to find out what happens next and hope you feel the same way.
I record occasional breakthroughs and milestones in the Diary page.
